Hello all! I am a 22 year old female and starting at the age of 18 I was having problems with bloody stools but since nothing else was going on I just ignored it. In 08 I got pregnant with my first son and voiced my concerns about my bloody stools with my ob, she said it was nothing to worry about and it would affect my child so I left it at that. After my son was born 12/08 I started having alot of problems with constant stomach pain and lower back/hip pain, after seeing a doctor he said I had gallbladder disease and removed my gallbladder (1/10). Shortly after getting my gallbladder removed I was still having all the stomach pains and now I was having constant diarrhea. I was (and still am) going anywhere from 1-12 times a day and its almost always very watery or loose, if im lucky I will have 1 solid stool a month. In 2/10 I found out I was pregnant with my second child but I was still having the bad pains and diarrhea (the bloody stools were pretty rare now). The pain was so bad that I had to be on high doses of vicoden through my whole pregnancy because I kept going into labor from the stress the pain was causing my body. In 10/10 I had my son but was still suffering from the pain and diarrhea so I decided to see a new doctor who told me I had adenomyosis and did a hysterectomy on me in feb of this year. I hoped this hysterectomy would be the end of my problems but it wasnt :( Im still having constant stomach pains in my lower pelvic area and up my left side into my stomach and in my hips/lower back that get even worse when I have bowel movements. After going back to the doc that did my hyst she decided that she needed to cut me back open to see if anything looked wrong in there. She removed several adhesions but said something looked off with my bowels and said that she believes I have Crohn's. I have an appointment with a gi specialist next week but I would really like to know if anyone here has had the same problems as I have been having. Im sorry this post is so long :frown: I just wanna know what going on so I can function like a normal person again and be able to take care of my children.

I forgot to mention that I have been having problems with these rashes I guess you could call them. I get very dry patches on my upper arms that are red and look like really bad dry skin.

Pain and diarrhea? Yeah, it could be CD.

Let's hope you get a good diagnosis and in any case get back on track healthwise, as soon as possible.

Hi and welcome! Your symptoms certainly sound like Crohn's, especially the bloody stools. This is not a good sign and should not be dismissed. So, have you set up an appointment with a GI and/or schedule a colonoscopy? If you do end up having Crohn's, you will be able to receive the right treatment and start to feel better. Hang in there!

Hi and thank you. I have an appt set up with a gi specialist next wed. I really hope I can finally find out whats been going on with me. I feel so weak and sleep deprived all the time and it really takes a toll on my stress levels.

I sure hope you can find out the cause for your symptoms, too. Good luck on Wednesday and let us know how it goes!

Hiya cb
and welcome

Make sure you write everything down, triggers, symptoms, times, dates, the more info the better.
Do not be fobbed off with a diagnosis of IBS neither, you do not bleed with IBS.
Good luck on Wed, let us know how you get on
lotsa luv

HI CB and welcome!

You certainly have a lot on your plate with 2 young kids, recent surgery and still the continuing GI issues!

Where are you located? I ask because the health systems and meds are different in different countries, and we can better help you with advice if we know where you are.

I would suggest, at the very least, you need a CT scan and/or MRI, or a small bowel series. Don't be surprised if a colonoscopy is recommended and doesn't show anything - many times there is no activity in the colon, only in the small intestine where the colonoscopy can't reach!

Also have them run a full panel of bloods to make sure you are not anemic or low in any vitamin/mineral levels.

Joan's suggestion about writing everything down is a good one. This way you don;t forget to mention a symptom or ask about something you may have read here that you want to question the doc about.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes! - Amy

Hi, I live in Nebraska. I know I have problems with anemia, ive been struggling with it since I was young. I have already started my list and I really hope it will help the doctor better understand whats going on. Thank you for the advice! :)
