Hello Everyone!

This week, I've noticed I've had some anal itching going on. It's not all the time, but it comes and goes and I notice it when I seem to calm down like sit on the couch or lay down in bed or something. I've been using cream which helps but I'm not sure what is causing this. I'm taking Pentasa, Entocort and Flagyl and Bentyl right now, and I was wondering if anyone has had this with Flagyl? I've been taking Flagyl for most of January and I'm not sure if this is a side effect or what? Anyone else experience this or know anyone who has?

Hi there I am very experienced with Flagyl, I have never had that problem. Itchy skin can come from many things. You would be surprised how many get it, but mostly in the summer months. Yes, it can be a side from crohn's. But then again isnt everything???

I was diagnosed back in December with Crohns, and the anal itching just recently started. So it could be a side effect from Crohns? I don't want to over think this.

Most likely yes, Crohns can cause so many manifestations...arent we lucky?? NOT. Try to keep the area clean and use wipes with no alcohol or scents. Most people find relief from using Calmoseptine, your drug store should carry it. If you sit alot try to avoid it, if you strain from bm sometimes you can create a hemmy. Nice disease eh? :hang:
