She has been feeling worse everyday since post op, today being unbearable, she told me she had a fever, she was nauseous, her ears were hurting, she has been noticing some bleeding in her throat and her mouth was very sore today. They gave her some IV pain meds and an anti-inflamatory and anti nausea meds, there was no infection (thank god!) They sent her home where she is resting now. I hope she feels better soon. The chat room isn't the same without her!!

Thanks everyone! :D I'm pretty drugged up tonight so I wont be online for very long. Home to catch up on the forum soon so I can get back to helping you guys out! :D

Doc says everything is healing well, just that my body couldn't handle it and I got dehydrated. Feeling a lot better now after some rest, fluids and more meds. Ate once I got home and the pain has been minimal since I got back from the ER. Hope I keep getting better! lol my typing sucks right now, Had to correct this a lot. :p

Hope you're doing much better now Crabby and that you have a wonderful Christmas, pain free and peaceful xxxx

I am glad you are better and out of the hospital.

I am not sure what you mean by " they burned everything". Is your mouth burned? What did they do to you in there?

Have a good Christmas.

Dan

They cauterized the area. No stitches. Seems like someone got lazy with the laser or something cause I'm burned everywhere on my tongue and the roof of my mouth. :p

I hope you are on the better end of things now Crabby.

Good luck!

@ Ihurt, I had my tonsils removed on the 18th. Was a planned surgery. Just wasn't explained to me at all. Thought they cut them out and stitch it back up but I guess now they just blast your mouth with a blow torch or at least that's what it looks and feels like. :p Should have took pictures but its pretty nasty. Everyone who looks in my mouth cringes so I guess its best that you haven't seen the pictures. XD

Thought the tonsils were in one spot, why is my whole mouth burned? Were they running around? :p

I'm eating soft foods already (ice creams, yogurt etc). Sadly most soft foods are sugary and even that can make you a bit raw after a while, not to mention get sick of eating sweets all the time. :p Have to be careful of acids as well so most things are pretty bland. :p

If I have to have that done, I am going to request stitches. I don't want the blow torch anywhere near me.

Sounds a little on the medieval side.

LOL, I'm just assuming that's what they did. I'm sure it was a laser or something. :p I'm not sure they do stitches for it anymore. Its not too bad. Tonight I'm having a hard time eating vanilla ice cream though. Apparently its too cold and that hurts. :p

Awww, I am so sorry you are in pain, and it does sound painful! My son had his tonsils removed when he was 8 years old and I remember him having a lot of pain as well and he also would bleed at the sight. His doctor told me to have him suck on ice chips or popsicles. It seemed to help with the bleeding.

Your whole mouth hurts likely because of all the nerves involved. I mean maybe also because they had to cut on both sides to get each tonsil out it it just making your whole mouth and throat hurt. With each day it should get a bit better. You are in my thoughts and prayers that you will back to feeling well in no time!!

Glad your out Crabby. Hey, baby food works well too. I was older when mine were taken n it takes lots of fluids and rest my dear! Best wishes! -hugs-
