Crohns and Blood Clots

Hi

Does anyone know if having crohns can increase your risk of having blood clots?

I have had blood clots on my lungs 2 times.

I have also had pericarditis and pleurisy.

Yes, inflammatory bowel disease is a risk factor for developing thrombosis/blood clots.

Yes, it increases your overall risk and it is even higher during active disease. Having a blood clot in my leg is what led my doctors to really suspect Crohn's disease. Of course, then I learned that I also have a genetic clotting disorder...bad genes .
