My daughter has Crohn's (she's nearly18) and a steady boyfriend. They are using contraception (condoms) but unfortunately it failed and I had to go with her to get the morning after pill. She now thinks it would be better to get a contraceptive implant, but would this be effective with the meds she takes? - mercaptopurine, mesalazine and every 8 weeks she has an Infliximab infusion. I hate the thought of even more chemicals going into her body, but proud of her for being sensible and taking precautions. I know the implant is 99% successful, but just wondered if her meds would counteract this.
Thank you for any advice 😊

Hi, I not sure on that, I would have a word with the nurse at your doctor's office and they should be able to check that out for you. I do believe that the implants are better than oral pill as you can loose effectiveness if the digestive system is awry with the pill.
Best wishes 💕
