Crohns and IBS

I have crohns and i have just been told that my first child has IBS. Has this come from me? I have asked my condultant who couldnt really give em a striaght answer.

could the iBS turn into crohns?

It was one of my considerations of whether or not to have a child but my consultant told me there was a 1% chance of passing IBS or crohns on to my child so very low. Also i read somewhere that although they say a large number of crohns cases are genetic its only actually 20% of peple with crohns that have another family member with it. Not sure if its the same with IBS.
