Crohn's and Medical School

Hello there,

I am due to start medical school this September and I have recently been diagnosed with Crohn's about a year ago and currently on Humira & MTX and in remission.

Any doctors or medical students out there with Crohn's or other chronic conditions that want to share their experiences? What can I expect as a med student with Crohn's? How did having the disease impact your passion in medicine?

I actually had an ER doctor recently who also has Crohn's.....I found that out when I had to go through my medications and told him why I was on Remicade.

Personally, I wouldn't expect anything 'different'....know your own body and its' limits, don't try to use any condition as an excuse, and work as hard as you can! Remember you never know what you can or can not do until you TRY!
