Okay guys, when you urinate does it hurt? My husband has just informed me that when he flares or before and after a flare he feels pressure or pulling on his bladder and occasionally a light burning sensation during urination. His scans do not show a fistula by the bladder. Is this something anyone else has experienced?

It could be kidney stones, even really small ones. I get it frequently and it's not fun. He might want to see a urologist. Unfortunately, stones are more prevalent in patients who also have crohns i've been told.

thanks, would kidney stones show up in the 9 million scans he has had done in the last 6 months? I wouldn't think so because they have all been of hi intestines but you never know!!

I have experienced this, too, however, I'm a woman. I noticed that when I'm feeling crappy, I'll feel a lot of pressure and a burning sensation when I urinate. In fact, when I first got sick everyone was convinced I had a UTI.

I'm the same as Vanessa, I often have problems urinating when I'm feeling lowsy. There is a real sense of pressure and burning, I also find I tend to go a lot more. I too am often convinced I've got a UTI or similar, even though none of the symptoms have ever actually come to that.

but no one can figure out what it is, it's just a symptom of crohn's? weird. This disease is seriously a pain. My heart goes out to you guys. I don't know you personally but I feel like giving you all huge hugs if you are experiencing anything close to what my husband is going through. keep fighting.

I'd long dealth with symptoms of UTI, but cultures never grew into anything. I was sent on my merry way with no help and no answers.

Then, a doctor I went to had known about a bladder condition called Interstitial Cystitis. Had a (excruciating!) test for that and was finally diagnosed.

The symptoms are all the same, but it's not bacteria, and not an infection. It will never show up in cultures if tested for a UTI.

I've been on Elmiron for... I believe 4-5 years. I'm in a wicked flare right now with it. It's still a pretty unknown condition, so there aren't many treatments for it.

I have holes in my bladder. Not pretty.

I have been diagnosed since "96 and got the same issues just after Christmas for the first time. Thought I had a UTi which I have never had, cultures were negative and problem went away after a week or so. It returned last night but not as bad as before, pain below my belly button, pain near the head, kind of a full feeling in my bladder, more pain near the end of peeing, etc. I'm going back to the GP tomorrow but kind of associating it with sore guts, maybe pressure on the uritor from bloating??? I'm on Remicade so no flare right now but struggling with strictures from "96 surgery. Hope this helps people not feel alone in this. I'll update if I get answers.

Im going through this myself at the moment. I was told it could be mild gout as a complication of the crohn's I'm still to see a urologist but i went to see a homeopathic doctor and he gave me some drops to help with the crohn's and stingy urine seem to help

I have this too (i'm also a woman). I'm convinced I have a fistula causing UTI symptoms. It generally happens right as my next Humira dose is about to start or when i have a flare. I am scheduled for an MRI next Saturday to find out for sure.

where do the drops go? What are they?

Details on the test and treatment please please please. As much as it sucks to hear this from you, i'm glad we have one more possible solution.

I have had this before, and I also wondered about a fistula to my bladder.
I was sure it was something strange but every time I went to the doctors it was "just a UTI". But I was sure it was linked with the other crohn's symptoms.

Being a female, maybe the bacteria from the diarrheah get into the urinary tract.
Or i wonder if there is intestinal inflammation right next to the bladder and it effects it in some way.

I haven't had this in a long time though.
