I've been living with Crohns for 27 years. I am 47 yrs old and have been on every class of drug imaginable, 5 ASA's, steroids, TNF suppressants, you name it... I had a bowel resection in April 2005. They removed the last two feet of my small intestine and the first foot of my large. I have a new ulceration at the anasthmosis site (where they put me back together) and I've lost all the haustral folds in my large intestine due to chronic inflammation. That means my colon looks like a lead pipe. I'm on Humira 40 mg inj weekly. I go back to the GI in Jan and will ask for a follow up colo to see if its working. If its not then I will stop taking it.
My sister also has Crohns. She was diagnosed at age 30 and is now 49.

Hello Karen and welcome to the forum :)

I will be keeping fingers crossed that the Humira can do the trick for you and settle the tum, we do have a sub forum for this med if you would like to chat with others who are on this: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=59. Out of interest what symptoms do you have at the moment? Given the op you have had do the docs keep an eye on your vitamin levels?

I have started back with right lower quadrant abdominal pain, night sweats, and constipation with intermittent bouts of diarrhea. I get CBC, LFT, and CRP drawn monthly. Vitamin levels are ok. I've had to start B12 injections monthly.

No worries hun :) I am glad to hear the docs have been checking those levels, all too often I hear about them not checking this and people experiencing so many problems because of it. Please keep us updated on how things go.
