I had a Pouchoscopy and an upper gi today. My dr said I definitely have Crohns in my pouch. He said I have gastritis with erosions, which he biopsies to check for Crohns. Also, he said he took biopsies of the upper part because it is irritated and may be affected with Crohns also.

My question is....has anyone had Crohns in your stomach? I didn't even realize you could get it there. I mean, it makes sense, but...

It's been a rough day, and a lot to take in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have Crohns in your stomach, what foods do you avoid or any diet advice?

Thanks everyone. This forum has been a life saver for me. Things have been very overwhelming for me, and it's nice to talk on here.

I had Crohn's in my stomach back when I was first diagnosed. You can have Crohn's anywhere from mouth to anus. i don't remember what I ate back then, its been a while, but I do know that I ate a lot of soft things like mashed potatoes and rice. Very bland things so it wouldn't irritate too much.

Thank you all for your replies! I in fact have Crohns in my pouch, small intestine, and stomach. Also with the added bonus of the chronic gastritis. now I need to seriously change my diets habits. This is the hard thing for me. Thanks for all of your help!!

Sorry to hear you have stomach involvement with your Crohn's. I've dealt with ulcers since being diagnosed, never had ulcers before, so I think I sort of know how you feel. Fortunately one Omeprazole a day seems to do the trick for me.
