For a while now I have been trying to get a current flare up under control. I am currently taking prednisone and I am having 6 weekly infusions of infliximab. All my symptoms have cleared up, no stomach pain, no diarrhoea etc. However I have many painful ulcers and sores in my mouth, it sometimes gets to the point where my face looks visibly swollen. Has anyone ever experienced the mouth ulcers with no other symptoms? Or does anyone know if there is anything my specialist can give me. I have been to my GP before and he gave me a mouthwash which only slightly took away the pain for a short period of time.

Sorry to hear about you going through this, but this happened to me before.

It wasn't as serious as what you're explaining, but the reason why, might be the fact that I started to take medication for that since it started to show.

What my doctor prescribed was a paint named Salivex-L, which I had to apply to the inner part of my lips, where the sores spread. It took a couple of days for them to clear.

You can discuss if you can take this medicine with your doctor, and I really hope this will clear soon.

Yes, I get mouth ulcers and esophageal ulcers, and they are no fun! My GI gave me some "Miracle Mouthwash" (literally called that) that tasted revolting, but it was slightly soothing. I have also gotten facial swelling/rashes of some kind in concession with this--even swole my eye shut while I was out of the state visiting family (that was a fun ER trip..)

Honestly, the best success I've had with oral and esophageal ulcers is when I drank aloe juice in my water every day. ALL THE TIME. I use Herbalife's aloe juice concentrate, but there are others out there too. I put it in smoothies as well. (Probably would work well in popsicles also...hmmm yum, that sounds good right now..).

Anyhow, hope that helps and that you feel better soon. Those are nasty and take forever to heal.

I had just one last spring and my GP gave me triamcinolone .1% to spread on it. It really helped but I had to take pain killers for a while. It took six weeks to heal. They're particularly nasty things.
