Hi everyone

I've been doing well for the past few months and just this past week started being really sick. Alot of people in my area have the stomach flu my family doctor prescribed prednisone and have been on it for two days and usually for me it works almost immediately and also I had to take 2 lomotil to stop the diarrhea and the most I've ever taken is one

So I don't know what to think stomach flu or attack.

How can I tell the difference.

For me... it is so hard to tell the difference! How long has it been going on? Usually, I think stomach flus are only a couple of days (i could be totally wrong). Are you having bad pains or anything like that in your "usually" flare up spots?

We've had the Norovirus here. I had it for one day and I could tell the difference. The nausea etc., hit hard, then all symptoms were gone, except my usual ones. The only real difference for me was the extreme nausea, and this rolling-like feeling. Totally yucky.

When I suddenly started getting diarrhoea out of the blue I took some time off work, rested, tied myself to the toilet, and it lessened within a couple of days. So for me, I knew it was a bug because the symptoms were different (diarrhoea when normally Crohn's is pain and vomiting for me) and also the fact that it lessened after a couple of days with no treatment other than a BRAT diet and extra fluids.

I didn't go to my GP, but I did phone in (and my ibd nurse) and they said to wait it out a couple of days if I could (without taking anti diarrhoea meds unless I absolutely had to) to see what happened.
