I was wondering how you guys handle job transition and any potential offers when considering our delicate and enormous need for proper insurance coverage.

I can't exactly ask the person offering me a job if their company insurance covers remicade or ostomy supplies or at what percentage. How am I supposed to know this stuff if they just tell me they offer an HMO or PPO at X insurance company.

This is a huge concern for me because my medications run in the tens of thousands and my ostomy supplies would be hundreds a month if insurance didn't cover it.

Is it possible you might be able to talk to the HR member about this? Sometimes they might either have or be able to get a hold of that kind of info for you. Sorry.:( That's all I could think of. It's hard having a sensitive subject like this.

My husband just ask for a benfits package
Preview. Most of the time it's something
That's giving by the recruiter. Then we can look over what
Insurance ppo,HMO what copay's are. Ect
What the cost is and most the time you can go online
And look at the insurance website. With his last job
They actually put money in an account towards
Medical. It was almost half of our detuctable. Good luck

It definitely it is a sensitive subject because I don't want to advertise my crohn's or ostomy and certainly not before I begin working there!

By my skill set I usually work for small companies with a few employees and there is no HR or recruiter involved. It's awkward and I don't want the boss to get the impression something is seriously wrong if a young guy is asking mostly about insurance questions.

Is it possible to get company name and type of plan and call the insurance company?

This is such a nerve wrecking process but I need a job and I NEED good coverage.

Not sure it might be. You can also go on glass door
Current and x employees. Rate the company
Including benfits. But it never hurts to call the insurance
Company's. Find out what's on their formulas
I know some have crazy rules. That determines the cost
Of your meds

Even small companies have HR even if its one person.
When an offer is made request the benefits preview /package.
It is a valid question since it is part of the compensation package.

Good luck

I might get an offer but it's a small 5 person nonprofit. No HR listed but hopefully director can provide that and I have time to review.

Good point Lodge. I can say in light of all the confusion over insurance I just want to be certain I understand what I'm getting.
