Diarrhoea

Please help I've had watery diarrhoea for 2 days with tummy pain and feel so tired, can any of you recommend something to help me im already on steroids

Are steroids the only thing you are on? You might need something stronger. I would talk to your doctor and see what he wants to put you on. I don't know if that would be something like imuran or a biologic. Let us know how you are doing.

How's your diet ? I would suggest a bland diet for a day or two to see if that helps.
Chicken (no skin) white rice,banana,clear soup and toast.No spice or grease.Do you have an IBD nurse you can call ? Failing that I would give Immodium a try.But DON't be tempted to over do it.I hope you feel better soon.

I'm taking 8 pentasa 2 mercaptopurine 4 prednisolone 2adcal lansoprazole and 3 ondansetron. I've left a message on the answer phone for my ibd nurse but they close at 1 so probably won't hear from them until tomorrow

Using mercaptopurine together with mesalamine may increase the effects of mercaptopurine. Contact your doctor if you experience nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, bleeding, fever, chills, and other signs of infection. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
