I am currently working at Walmart and Im having difficulty maintaining my energy levels. I have a full time position and the cramping and severe fatigue has me questioning my future employment. My coworkers don't seem to enjoy having "the sick guy" in their department. I am trying to eat right, take my vitamins, and get plenty of rest but I am still burning out really fast. I almost threw up in the produce department the other day :/ One of my coworkers asked me why I came to work if I was sick and I angrily replied "well at least I am here trying my best!". Unfortunately my cramping and trips to the restroom are keeping me from performing very well at my job. I am going through this gloomy state right now and I don't know which way to turn. I cant keep up like this or I will end up having another flair. I have already been on leave of absence three times since ive started at Walmart and I keep feeling like they will fire me soon. I live in a small town and I don't have many other job opportunities. I am wondering if I should pursue disability or what. I know that process is supposedly a long one so that doesn't really help me at the moment. I feel so useless to everyone and sometimes wish I simply didn't exist anymore. Im not going to off myself, after all there are many here on this site who have things much much worse and my heart certainly goes out to them. Thanks for letting me vent

In my opinion Walmart is a horrible employer and a very greedy corporation but do they offer any disability benefits? Can you speak to someone in HR about your rights?

Anxiety around work can sometimes be as debilitating as the actual CD.
Best thing I did - reduced my work to three days per week with a supportive employer. My work schedule is also pretty flexible.
My colleagues are also extremely supportive.
This has significantly reduced my stress and anxiety about my ability to deliver and perform in my job role.

I have talked with the people at Walmart and the most they can supposedly do for me is put me on part time as opposed to my current full time schedule. I am allowed to take one additional absence a month for Crohns related purposes....but seriously we all know that we more than likely need more than just one day off of work when we get sick. I have taken a leave of absence three times since I have worked there in September. My coworkers think I am lazy due to me not doing too much on the days im cramping up and making an average of 4 to 6 trips to the restroom. I am going to schedule a colonoscopy soon. I may have to just aim for disability. I honestly cant see myself advancing to a management position in walmart (not that I want to anyways...) due to their high demands and ruthless work schedules. I would go back to college but like millions of other young Americans I cant decide which field I want to pursue other than nature photography. Thats where I genuinely feel my calling is. Being a starving artist with Crohns doesnt sound like a good life either but I guess if I was on disability I could pursue my dreams of nature photography without too many worries....not sure though. As for right now, I am experiencing a lot of fatigue. Does anyone else suffer from extreme fatigue for no reason? Thanks for your opinions and advice. My state of remission has been off and on ever since i last took prednisone. My body mass index has also dropped a lot from where I was prior to the prednisone. Everything about Crohns sucks except for maybe the knowledge gained from researching the damn thing.

How long have you been working there? You may be entitled to 3 months either continuous or interment leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act.
