I was admitted to the hospital on Thursday evening for exacerbation of Crohns, prednisone induced hyperglycemia and Leukocytosis. I was also plagued with hypertension. I was discharged this morning with the order to increase the Prednisone back to 60mgs from 50mgs daily to try to control the flare. Wont that cause the other symptoms to return? To be honest, I am not feeling well again and I have a booming headache. I am afraid I will be readmitted soon. They were giving me insulin in the hospital but told me I could resume a regular diet at discharge. He said once I am finished with the steroids, the hyperglycemia should go away. But what to do until then?
