Ive been having really bad stomach pains espically in the lower left side. ive also been passing alot of blood everytime i have a poo its all over the toilet and on my poo and its also coated with a clear mucus. ive lost my appetite and 2 days ago i got a really bad pain after i had been to the toilet, i had to get my mam to come into the toilet to help me off as the pain was so bad, the pain was a tightened gripping pain mainly from my left hand side. And ive got pressure in my lower stomach.

I got my blood took last week and some of my results are back today but not all and the doctor said there was something wrong with my white blood cells and she thinks im fighting an infection, which is why she suggested crohns. i dont know much about it so i was just wondering if any of my symptoms were similar to any1 thats got crohns.

Blood when passing bowel movements is common on Crohns. I Would strongly suggest getting into contact with a gastroenterologist via a doctors referral and organize an endoscopy and colonoscopy to see what is happening on the insides.

Hope that helps.

Hi Dream and welcome!

I agree with James - you should see a GI specialist and get a colonoscopy and/or small bowel test. Sometimes a colonoscopy doesn't show Crohn's activity and you have to loo further up with a small bowel follow thru, MRI or CT scan.

I hope you are able to find a quick diagnosis and can get on some meds soon to help you feel better, stop the bleeding and the pain!

Please make sure you have your iron levels tested as well as vitamin Bs and D.

Hiya Dream
and welcome

When you say doc do you mean GP? If so the GP needs to refer you to a specialist in IBD, a gastroenterologist.
As suggested these tests may find Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis. Once detected, the gastro will start you on the appropriate meds which hopefully will reduce your pain.
Good luck and let us know how you're getting on

Welcome!

I agree with my friends above - you need to see a specialist and get more testing done. Blood and mucus is not a good sign. I hope you don't have IBD, but if you do, you can begin treatment to help you feel better.

Make that appointment and keep us posted!
