Everyone says when you're ill, just be positive and you'll feel better. Not just me that's had that told to them??

So if you're having your average rubbish, poorly day and then you get sad news, do you suddenly feel physically worse too?

Like those days where you get bad news and you just curl up in bed, you don't wanna do anything or see anyone and you feel extra rubbish.

I wouldn't go as far as saying having a positive attitude will make your ill health go away, but in my experience, it is at times of real stress/depression that seem to have brought on my worst flares. But being happy doesn't make it go away. I'm not sure if theres been any studies done to confirm anything, but the general consensus amongst people with IBD is that Stress can be a big trigger.

Yes! I feel like hiding under my bed when I get bad news especially during a flare up cos I do feel worse afterwards. The 'emotional drain' definitely makes me feel worse......
