Ankylosing Spondylitis . Something I have but no one has given me much info on it. They tell me it's a side effect from CD. I also have the Arthritis and all the other goodies most people with CD get.

I suspect I do, but I still haven't gotten a proper diagnosis. Was supposed to go in and get some MRI's done, but got short on time to go do it. Now I'll have to get another slip from my doctor to go get it done.

Hi Dan, You should get checked out I did but haven't been back since. I'm going to go back soon though. By the way I like your Zombies

Cool, thanks. :)

Hopefully the movie will make some money when it comes out so I can get paid. ;)

Yeah, I should get my testing done. Just gotta find the time to do it now.

I was dx with ankylosing spondylosis many years ago, as a side effect of Crohn's. I believe spondylitis is when the condition is inflamed. It doesn't bother me much, except for pain in my shoulder area if standing too long.

I do get pain when I stand to long but usually get it when I sit on a folding chair or something hard.

I Get the pain in my tailbone, and in my neck? Anyone else been bothered with this and what do you do for the pain?

I just kinda live with it. Occasionally I take some Tramadol at night, but I can't take it very often as it gives me constipation and a killer case of insomnia. I'll be tired, sleepy, but can't actually sleep.

In the morning I try to sit in bed for a bit and stretch out my lower back and my upper until I can stand up and walk without looking like I'm 90.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a type of arthritis of the spine. It causes swelling between your vertebrae, which are the disks that make up your spine, and in the joints between your spine and pelvis. Ankylosing spondylitis is an autoimmune disease. This means your immune system, which normally protects your body from infection, attacks your body's own tissues. The disease is more common and more severe in men. It often runs in families.

Early symptoms include back pain and stiffness. These problems often start in late adolescence or early adulthood. Over time, ankylosing spondylitis can fuse your vertebrae together, limiting movement. Symptoms can worsen or improve or stop altogether. The disease has no cure, but medicines can relieve the pain, swelling and other symptoms. Exercise can also help.

Ankylosing spondylitis

A good friend of mine has this. He is one of my best friends boyfriend. We exchange medication and treatment stories when we see each other. This sounds like an extremely painful disease. He is lucky that he found my friend, who is so supportive and loving through his pain. (He is pretty cool too.)

Very possible Jeff, They found it in me when they were doing a Lower GI series.

Sounds Cool Stuff. Good to have friends you can talk to about this. I find my girlfriend doesn't get it.

Hey everybody! I think I have this problem too:( My back has been painful and stiff for years now. I have had xrays taken 3 times, and it wasn't until this last time that they actually saw something. I have these wicked looking bone spurs on my pelvic bones. Right along were the tailbone and pelvis meet. It also appears that there is a fusion of my sacroiliac joint! my doc wouldn't dx though!? she wants me to get my flare under control first, i guess...
