I read these boards and feel incredulous about the amount of suffering some people are going through.... I consider myself luck because I really dodn't have symptoms... Once in a blue moon I'll eat something that makes me RUN to the bathroom, or become bloated... but this is very few and far between.

So my question is, has anyone been diagnosed with Crohns... prescribed meds and not really know why you have to take meds? and not know if the meds are working because you have nothing to compare to?

So confused!:ybatty:

Everyone is so different, but I have read other members who report not experiencing many symptoms. And, on the other hand, there are members who have symptoms that are worse than what's going on inside; this being the case with me.

It's obviously a great thing you don't have any symptoms, but it can be a bad thing, too. You don't want to forget you have Crohn's, stop your meds and stop taking care of yourself. I have read people's stories who have done this and greatly regretted it. So, be thankful you don't suffer from symptoms, but continue to take your medication and be mindful of your health!

I have to agree with Jill. Don't stop taking your meds just because you feel ok. It could be the medicine that is making you feel ok.

I hope you continue to feel great.

Binka,
Don't let your guard down. What you feel on the outside may be different than what's going on inside. Some people tolerate pain better than others; sometimes you don't really notice all of the symptoms. Definitely keep taking your meds and following your doctor's instructions. I find that the colonoscopies are a good meaure of what's going on. At that point, you can make a real apples to apples comparison.

Hi I'm like you I don't suffer too many symptoms especially since I've had surgery if anything I feel like I suffer more IBS type symptoms and even at that the last couple of weeks have been great. What took me by surprise last year before surgery is I had no idea how badly damaged my small bowel was when I had my 1st CT I had fibrosed tissue due to the inflammation which lead to an abscess and perforation and even at that the pain I had didn't correlate to the damage hence my shock when I ended up needing surgery!! What I'm trying to say is there still can be damage going on ( hopefully not though) and your just not aware or it's the meds that have you in remission. It's a tough one I don't take maintenance meds and so far so good but only time will tell. Good luck

Having read many threads on this forum. I now appreciate how well I am in comparison to some of the brothers and sisters here.
Oh boy!!!
