Hi Kathrussell!

Welcome to the forum.

When my Crohn's was bad I sufferred from constipation. It was very frustrating and unfortunately I am not sure if I found anything that ever made it better.

Some of the advice I was told at the time was to make sure I was drinking enough water and make sure I was getting some movement in (walking). I was told to eat a lot of fibre, but I dont think that helped and it is not the safest advice for people suffering from IBD. I have also heard that a lot of fiber can actually keep you even more backed up. Instead, I think I found eating fat (like avocado) might have aided me in having softer and more frequent bowel movements.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. This thread is also a good place for you to introduce yourself further to the community so please let us know what has happened in the 6 months since your initial diagnosis.

Hi kathyrussell and welcome! You are certainly not the only member who suffers from constipation. A few members struggle with this symptom. Some members even rotate - a few days of D, followed by a few days of not going at all. Either one is pretty awful. Is constipation your main symptom? What's your current treatment plan?
