Does anyone else sweat so bad that they have to get the port needle changed before it's due for changing?
I woke up so soaking wet from head to toe, every inch of my clothes were soaked in sweat and so were the bed clothes. I was freezing! I changed into dry clothing and was curled up in a ball under my dry covers. I had hubby hang another bag of IV Saline. My port area was itching me so I scratched it. When I scratched the port area, I got a lot of sweat dripping from it. I called my home nurse and told her what was going on and asked if I needed a dressing change. She said I most certainly did need a dressing change. When she came out and changed the dressing, she said she could tell by looking at the old dressing how bad I had been sweating.
