Does peptamen jr cause loose stools?

Hello everyone,
My son recently started Peptamen Jr. 3Xday and has started having 3-5 loose stools a day. Never had loose stools before. Has anyone experienced loose stools as a side effect from peptamen jr and if so any suggestions on how to resolve this problem?

Yes, for some it's liquid in and liquid out.

As for what to do, I'm not sure. Grace has always had the constipation but others will be along that can help you.

Is he also on food? When my daughter was on exclusive enteral nutrition we did have a period of diarrhea. Like FW said, liquid in liquid out but it resolved in a few days.

Yes he eats as much food as he wants and he has never stooled this many times in a day.

Yes, my daughter has loose stools/diarrhea with Peptamen. She sometimes went 8-10 times a day. We waited a couple weeks to see if she would get used to it (she has an NG tube and gets 4 cans of Peptamen at night) but the diarrhea continued.

We eventually switched Neocate and the diarrhea got MUCH better. She now goes 2-3 times a day. I guess Peptamen just didn't agree with her (her GI said most kids with IBD are able to tolerate it though).

When Ds was only on peptamen jr without food
He has pure D but only 1-2 x a day.
Once he added food and was on 2-3 a day no issues.
Ds has been drinking peptamen jr with prebio for three years now with his other meds.
It has helped him gain 36 lbs and grown 8+ inches in three years .
If he was just dx things change quickly .
Prior to dx Ds had few symtpoms but then got drastically worse after dx.
Once he was in the right meds things improved a lot .

He was dx 3 years ago and he started peptamen 2 months ago. Ever since starting the peptamen he has had increasing diarrhea. :-(
