Hi all,
I am no stranger to fissures, not one little bit. Usually I get them from persistent diarrhoea, but now I am having frequent 'constipation' - this basically means I am passing hard stool and very frequently during the course of the day. A few days ago I passed a really large stool (which is starting to become more and more common, but is still outnumbered by the small 'pebble stool'). This actually ripped me and caused a lot of bleeding, which I don't normally get, but this is not the issue. It's the placement. I'm not entirely sure if it is the same place as my previous one that lasted for 5 months, but when it's been had a look at, the doctors have not seemed concerned. The fissure is placed at a 2/3 o clock position. Now, this was caused by tearing, but apparently 99% of the tearing happens at 12 or 6 o clock.
I am currently undiagnosed, but I have read on the internet that if it is elsewhere other than the most common, it raises other suspicions of disease (sexual, Crohn's etc.), but nobody has said anything, but I have only ever shown my GP and they are jack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-none, so is what I have read rubbish, or do they just not know about placements and what else it could mean? I keep getting fissures, and it's driving me mad. This one is probably the most painful, and the doctors without looking at my fissure, prescribed me more Laxido (3/4 sachets a day) to soften my stool without looking at the root cause of why my stool is so hard.
If anybody can help me or enlighten me a little more on this subject, I'd be most grateful. This is really bugging me, and I want to know what steps I should take next to see that I am treated properly. My doctors and GI have discontinued me basically, and do not want to do any more testing as it is too expensive and my bloods are basically not backing me up!
