I've recently been told by my doctor that I have 'possible Crohn's' based on raised (I'm not sure the values) ESR, CRP and fecal calprotectin levels plus daily bouts of diarrhea/stomach cramps that's been going on for months now.
My question is, is a flare up of Crohn's:
a) one long continuation of diarrhea/cramps/nausea etc from start to finish. Symptoms start, get worse, then improve until remission
OR
b) starts off badly, then starts to get a bit better for a few days, then gets worse again, then better, then worse.... for many months even
OR
c) could be both of the above
As I'm still learning about Crohn's, does option b), the one that describes my symptoms best, sound like a typical Crohn's flare?
I'd like to hear your experiences as to what a flare actually is. Any input is appreciated.
