Does this sound like a form of IBD?

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum and I have a couple concerns that I'm looking into. It started about 2 years ago, I would eat Normal meals and the next day I would have severe abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and chills/fevers. I move shortly after it stated and started to get headaches so bad I couldn't move, I tried cutting out gluten and my migraines went away but the stomach cramps and diarrhea stayed the same, on and off depending on what I ate and then Especially bad around my menstrual cycle. I cut out a lot of things and started to keep track on what bothered my stomach. ( onions, fruits, vegetables, esp corn bell peppers, tomatoes, potatoes) I've had blood test for auto immune because I've had sore joints, loss of appetite, weight loss, low grade fevers, night sweats and mouth sores. The rhumatologist said I don't qualify for a specific autoimmune disease and saidSee us in 6 months. My stomach is getting worse seems like after I ate a hamburger with gf bun and fries because it sounded good and I've been miserable since. Since this started I have had a couple times where there was blood in them. When I do have a flare up I can go and feel like I have to go more but I can't as well. Now it's quite a bit of mucus. I'm going to go see a GI doctor soon but I'm kinda at my wits end on what could be making me sick. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks

It certainly sounds like it could be IBD, although your GI will be able to determine that a lot better than we can over the internet. My advice is make sure you are prepared for your visit with the GI will a full list or accounting of your symptoms. And insist on getting a full colonoscopy including a look at the terminal ileum. The best and most direct way to understand what is going on down there is for the doc to take a look and see what is going on.

I think the mouth sores, night sweats, fevers, weight loss, and joint and abdominal pain point towards crohn's rather than IBS. I hope you are seeing the GI sooner rather than later. Waiting around for a diagnosis can be awful.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I believe the GI doctor is booked out till mid April. I'm hoping they call me soon to set up an appointment. Can crohns symptoms come and go if it's a mild case?

Seems you are on the right track, getting in to the GI. By all means take in a list, even giving a copy to the GI, he will be able to review your questions and concerns even after you have gone. Good Luck

Meat can be a trigger. Especially if it has been fed grain sprayed with glyphosate
(an herbicide commonly called roundup) Look it up. It causes big trouble with natural gut flora as it is also a very potent antibiotic. The levels get higher as you move up the food chain. Check out nutritionfacts.org and do some searching. It is a very reputable site and was recommended by my doc. I have learned a lot from that site alone.

Hope this helps,

Hi Royalblue765,

You better have some liquids at least. Small sips of Gatorade or Powerade or water. You have to stay hydrated. If you can't stand liquid, may I suggest ice chips? (broken ice cubes) I put mine in the blender for just a couple seconds. Be sure to know the limit. If you have to, see any doctor available.

I pray for you tonight,

Thanks. I appreciate it :) I'm a firm believer in prayer. I can eat stuff just not what I want to. Mainly sticking with protein drinks yogurt and oatmeal :) pray you are doing well also.
