donating blood

I have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and have been taking asacol and immuran. Can I donate blood while taking these medicines?

Thanks
Sam

id love to give blood but having had a transfusion 2 yuears ago i cant ever give blood. you have to be a year free of steroids and immunosuppresants untill you gan give blood if you havent had a transfusion (in the uk anyway)

If i recall, in the UK you have to have been in remission for 15years before you can give blood, thats not including any drugs that are on there no list. Bit of a bummer as I would like to donate blood. Put myself down for organ transplants but no idea if they would ever take them

People with Crohns I was told can give blood as long as they are not on any medications that are on the list and can answer each qualifying question.

The last time I tried to give blood I was told I couldn't because I had low iron so I haven't tried in years.
