I always seem to have cold hands and feet no matter what I do whether I put some gloves and socks on or whether I use a hot water bottle, they only stay warm for about 5 minutes then they go back to being cold again :confused2: I don't really understand why?? does anyone else get this??.

Everybody has different body temp but I don't think your crohns should affect it. If you have hair on your hands and feet your circulation is probably fine. My neurologist said "grass" can't grow on bad soil.

My hands and feet are always cold. I wear 2 thick pairs of socks to bed in the winter - if I don't, my feet get so cold and uncomfortable that it wakes me up. I've always been this way, ever since I was little, and I've only had IBD for about 4 years now. So I don't think the two are related.

If your cold hands cause pain or numbness, or if your finger tips turn blue, then it could be Raynaud's syndrome. Here's a link for you:

If I wear thick socks then my feet go all cold but clammy, usual at night I don't notice that my feet are cold as I wake up more than 5 times each night anyway. I think I've just had to learn to live with it I guess.

My hands are always like ice. I hate shaking hands with doctors, because my hands are always so cold. My family jokes about how my hands are like the "touch of death" because of their temperature, lol.

I don't know if it is Crohn's related, though, as it's more of a circulation problem. Maybe you could ask your doctor about Raynaud's?

My daughter also has freezing hands like ice cubes. I think they started around when her Crohn's started. I don't remember it before that. From reading I have read that this could be related to EIMs of Crohn's. I have read there may be up to 100 different types of EIMs.

check to see if you have Hashimoto's Disease or low thyroid. I have Hashimotos and my thyroid levels were normal, but as soon as the doctor put me on a low dose of thyroid the cold hands and feet ended and I felt much more alert.
