Does anyone else have dreams or nightmares about their stoma?

I keep getting loads of them! The most common are farting/pooing even though I still have a bag and no colon. Although the other night I had a bad one where my stoma kept prolapsing. I find it really weird.

I have dreams that i'm driving and my brakes give out and I need to swerve and steer to survive, but I always wake up before I crash...sorry, totally unrelated...lol.

Yes! I had one just the other night. I dreamt that I was changing my appliance and when i looked down at the stoma to clean it up, I noticed that the top half of my stoma had 'fallen off' and was sitting there with the flange that I'd just taken out. I totally freaked out, and was trying to decide whether I should pack the 'half-stoma' in ice and go to ER when i woke up. TOTALLY threw me for a loop when I woke up. And I was so relieved that it was a dream.

I can tell you, though, I've been taking everything off very very gently on change days. [Shudder]

I have no stoma, but the other night I had a dream that my entire small intestine came out through a fistula in my armpit. Very, very freaky.

I have the leaking dreams. Mostly.

The other night tthough I had the weirdest dream of my bag filling with air/wind and it lifted me off the ground. My hubby came home from work to find me in the top corner of the kitchen!

Personally I blame the drugs!

Haha glad it's not just me that has these dreams then! I think that's what's disturbing, because they feel so real at the time.

I had another one last night that I had my bag but went to the toilet and tired to go normally. I think I dream too much anyway!

I'm just waiting for my stoma dreams to turn into Bob talking to me and it'll be some weird psychadelic thing where he convinces me to start killing people or start an excercise program.

I've had a couple like that in the past, one in particular I was going downhill and my car breaks were unresponsive... according to google it meant i was worried about not being in control or something, I also had a few dreams in the last year or so where i was back in school again and involving my old school mates who i havent seen in years! very weird!

as for the stoma ones, I dont remember having many about my stoma as such maybe one where it was like prolapsing and stuff but i have had a few where ive been having operations etc, one in particular where i woke up in the middle of an operation , was a horrible dream.

I had a dream years ago, before I was even diagnosed with Chron's that there was an opening in the middle of my stomach and my insides were coming out, etc...

who says dreams dont come true

Okay, so bear in mind that I'm using the Nicoderm patch to quit smoking and have been having some really weird, vivid dreams. Two nights ago, I dreamt that my stoma was actually in the side of the neck, and my bag was an IV drip. I was at a job interview with my IV/poop pole and my stoma kept passing loud farts. I kept seeing the horrified faces of the interview panel, the stoma-farts kept reverberating against my voice-box, making my voice sound totally weird. I woke up before finding out whether I got the job.

I woke up and very tentatively, felt both sides of my neck. You know, just in case...This was one dream that I just DID NOT need to come true! :)

The worst one I had was that banana came out of my stoma whole. It was such a vivid dream! I couldn't eat bananas for weeks.

But seriously, even 3 years past surgery, I still dream that I'm having a BM.
