Duodenal ostomy

My husband has been told he had a duodenal ostomy and to expect a hospital stay of 6 months. Anyone else have this kind of ostomy?

Happy to report. Y husband has his ostomy reversed 3 weeks ago. He complained about this level of care, ie 2 months of being abandoned days a lost cause, only medical treatment being Imodium and codeine. He got a 3 rd opinion from a doctor he knows, who suggest the stretch out the stricture from his original surgery. They did and now we are 3 weeks post op and he's back to normal!!
