Embarrassing problems with Crohns

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I was diagnosed with Crohns in early 2005 and have been relatively well ( touch wood), however i have a had a flare up since before xmas, and now i seem to have Vaginal sores, now i have on occasions had them on my bottom but this is a new one for me !! I just wonder has anyone suffered from anything similar ? Its very embarrassing even explaining this to my partner, although he was very understanding. I have done some research and apparently people do get them.
Any similar stories ?

I would definitely get this checked out by both your GYN and your GI doc. It sounds to me like you may have a rectovaginal fistula. Mine started off feeling very much like sores, then I began passing gas and stool through them. Make sure to tell your GYN that you have Crohn's. My GYN had never seen one before, so she was not sure what it was at first. Yes, it can be a very embarrassing thing, but there are meds that can help heal them, especially if you catch them early enough. Cipro/ Flagyl is usually given to keep inflammation and infection away and Remicade may work to help close them up.

I would defo get a referral to a gynae and mention it to your gastro.
One a side note, don't wanna worry you even more, but have you been checked for genital herpes at a GUM clinic? If you're on immuno suppressants, then something like this which has been hibernating, could show up whilst your immune system is compromised.
