Hey,
I've used entocort/budesonide on a few occasions for small bowel Crohns disease. I have found it really effective on each occasion and have taken it for about 6-12 months at a time depending on how bad things were. I should say that common practice is to use it for less than that, but we were having really big trouble getting me on a maintenance medication.
The benefits of this med is that although it's still a steroid, it's far more gentle than the alternative of pred and most people find they have less side effects compared with other medications.
Dosage wise, I was on 9mgs a day to begin with and then 6mg and then 3mg, which I would take once a day before breakfast, but it's important to ask your doctors how they want you to take it as it differs for everyone. It is also important that when you stop taking it, you do so gradually to avoid withdrawel symptoms, unless on the specific instruction of your doctor
