I just had a scope and my Doc wants me on Pentasa, Remicade, and Entocort!
Besides being cost prohibitive, that is just too much meds! I am so frustrated! I don't think that I can do this. Anyone have success with this combo?
I have crohns and colitis pathology. I can barely make sense out of it. All i know for sure is that I have had diarrhea for 24 years. This past year I have begun to have crippling joint pain that migrates and it is very difficult to move and function. With the pain I have been taking hydrocodone and living with a false sense of well being, however I spend waaaayyyyy less time in the bathroom so it has been nice. Now i have an addiction issue and struggling with pain. Plus the pain meds clearly mask the crohns symptoms.
I am stopping the hydro and weary of the mountain of drugs that they are perscribing.
I am curious about other peoples experience with the pentasa, Entocort and remi.

Entocort will probably be short lived....its more like a booster for remicade....these are way different form the hydro....its tough but hang in there....i have a strong pain tolerance so i have been taking oxys and my wife regulates everything with that because i come from a family addiction issues and was scared....i just started Humira today and im also taking imuran andc entocort but will be tapering off Entocort when bottle is up...hope everything goes good with remicade.....i hear its the quickest med to help u feel better......good luck

Thanks for taking the time:) I forgot how nice it is to be on this forum and feel the support. There is great comfort in knowing that I am not alone in this sea of options and unknowns. I feel like my docs only respect my choices if I do what they want me to do. That being said, I do not feel heard and I have so many questions!
