Shyrock86. Thats a very low dose. As far as I know most people are put on 9mg straightaway to flatten the inflammation. Depends on how bad your crohns is I guess.

Entocort didn't work for us. I do remember that it cost an absolute fortune! $1500 every 2 weeks. There is even a web page called "entocort the road to poverty". Now we are on Remicaid which works great and at $400 every 2 months its a bargain!

Back to your question, we decided by the 6th week it wasn't working.

It took a month for me to feel any different but when it did kick in it worked brilliantly. When I was on pred before it took 3 days to have an effect so a massive difference.
Try to be patient. Others on here have had quicker results than me. I hope you do too

This is an odd question, but have any of you felt a feeling of fullness being on entocort ? I know steroids like this can make you feel hungry a lot but its having the opposite effect for me. Like I woke up this morning having not eaten since dinner the night before and still felt full, and then I ate breakfast and really felt like I just ate 10 times the amount of food that I did eat. I just do not get it.

So I don't know if the entocort is working and food is not running through me like it does with chrohns or what is going on.

I don't think it's helping to bulk you up it's an inflammation fighter not a diarrhea fighter. You may feel more full because the inflammation is going down and as a result have less diarrhea?

I have been on entocort since may. It took 3 weeks to a month to see Amy difference, however it REALLY works for me!!! After the 3-4 week period my bowel movements were solid and went from 15-20 times a day down to ONCE a day!!! My fatigue improved along with my joint pain and the nausea disappeared completely!!! Hang in there for a few more weeks... It may be worth it!!

ALSO, I get NO side effects whatsoever!!!

Good luck!!!

Took a month before Entocort worked (temporarily) for me. I was on 9 mg per day. Took a month to work, worked only a month, then stopped working altogether. Unfortunately, there is no one miracle drug that works for everyone.
