I never associated the esophageal throat spasms or anal spasms that I have very infrequently with this condition. But evidently both can be symptoms of Crohns. Wow, are they ever painful! Kind of feels like a muscle cramp [Charley-Horse] in the calf of a leg only in my throat or rectum. Intense. but doesn't last long. I usually get the anal spasms at night - they tend to wake me up. While the throat spasms happen during the day. Another strange thing...I get a feeling like my throat closes or spasms [although this is not painful] on the first sip of Coke - it's definitely not a burp! Really strange! Anyone else with any of these weird things?

Sorry I don't have any answers for you. Perhaps you could try contacting your GI and letting them know about it. They may be able to treat it and would more than likely know what it is or would run tests to be sure.
