I have been trying hard to get rid of H. pylori. I already took 3 separate H. pylori treatment but the results were positive. In December 2012 my results came back positive once again. I did not bother taking any medication after the result came back positive. One month later I went back to my GI and he advised to check H. pylori and C. Difficile once again. I this Time H. Pylori was negative but the C. difficile was positive.
My doctor said he is not sure why it is negative even though I was not prescribed any medicine. He decided to treat C. difficile now. Now I am taking Metronidazole 500mg 3 times a day. The medicine making me sick and causing slight pain inside the abdomen.
Is it true that it is very dangerous to take Metronidazole if the H. Pylori is still present. Does Metronidazole make H. pylori antibiotic resistant?
