Ok - this has happened on and off for quite a while, figured I'd finally ask if anyone here has had the same experiences and/or a determined cause....

At work, I generally walk quite a bit, could be 2 miles or more per day.....wakling itself isn't a problem- no unsusual tiredness etc....

HOWEVER - sometimes, when walking up stairs, I seem to get fatigued VERY quickly - legs really burn, short of breath, heart feels like it is pounding out of my chest.....

Now, this doesn't happen every time - and can occur while going up the first set (10 or so) of steps, or if I've been going up a few floors (which I could expect).....

Any thoughts on a reason behind this? I had a workplace physical last week and should be getting some blood results back, also had bloods drawn at my last remicade infusion.

I would feel that way after climbing stairs (or doing anything strenuous) when I was anaemic, could it be that? I guess your blood tests will confirm either way.

I'll just echo what Ian says. I get that way when my blood levels are low from the anemia.

Hopefully the tests will provide you an answer.

Nope - not anemic...just got my blood test results back from my physical....although, my triglycerides are a little high - BUT the test was NOT done after fasting....so that can alter the results......

sigh...maybe I'm just in worse shape than I think I am in!

Lisa - It could be just that your not used to your heart rate reaching some of the higher levels. Even though you walk around a lot, sometimes walking stairs is a bit more strenuous. It could just take a little extra effort to build up your heart rate. :) Start slow though!
