From Shawshank Redemption: Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying

When one door closes, don't jump out the window!

From the William Ernest Henley Poem Invictus:
I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

Invictus is Latin for Unconquered, which is what all of us Chronies that refuse to let this disease take over our lives are.

I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

From Henley's poem Invictus. (Latin for unconquered)

I have always loved this quote, compound metaphor I used to teach to high school English students. We Crohnies need to remember we are in charge of our fate and our souls do not stop their journey as we are more than just a diagnosis. We need to be the conductors of all the influences in our lives, from doctors to the internet to our supplements and medications.

If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were.

Travel and tell no one, live a true love story and tell no one, live happily and tell no one, people ruin beautiful things.

Kahlil Gibran

Life is short. You have to be able to laugh at our pain or we never move on.
Jeff Ross

Something I try to continue to do....getting harder lately. Time for a funny movie.

Hey Jane, watch Zoolander with Ben Stiller... you will laugh stupidly... One of my fave's!
Haven't watched that in a long time, will look up. I love dumb humor....what about Bob was a classic. Since I got a fish and when I went sailing with the wounded warrior I've been thinking about that one.

“An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it’s going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming.”

Can we do poetry? There's no poetry thread.

The Road Not Taken
By Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I have always loved poems. I remember my grandmother reading them and throughout my life writing them to get through difficult times in my life. You're making me want to hunt for my poem book. Love it, great distraction.

As you grow older, you'll find the only things you'll regret are the things you didn't do.

This one means a lot to me today, thank you. I've been wanting to move out finally from my mom and sisters house. To finally be on my own, which I've never totally done. Sure periods of time but 54 years old and I don't want to say I regretted not moving to the beach. :)

“Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change.”
― Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, Frankenstein

Feeling this today. Daughter went in hospital last night, her meds weren't working for her bipolar disease. So was approved to get a house in Seaside and now have to put on hold to take care of three grand kids. Please keep in prayer.

Even in the madness, there is peace. Drowning out the voices, all around me. Feels like everything is crashing down. Still I know where my hope is found. Through all of this chaos, You were writing a symphony.

So heard this song on the way to Portland. Not quite a quote, but such powerful words that really spoke to me.

“this too shall pass“ did like it gave me hope till I realised (thanks to google) it only meant the moment in time passed and not necessarily for the better. 🤷‍♀️ Bet that’s cheered you all up no end!

Sometimes it is the people no one imagines anything of - who do the things that no one can imagine. - From the movie The Imitation Game ( Alan Turing)
This can either be inspiring - or be referring to gastro specialists who perform colonoscopies.

Money is a tool, not a goal. Like a hammer, that is worth nothing until it's used to build a house.

Be a victim, be a survivor, BE A THIVER, which one are you, no matter the circumstances?

I DON'T CARE!" Harry yelled at them, snatching up a lunascope and throwing it into the fireplace. "I'VE HAD ENOUGH, I'VE SEEN ENOUGH, I WANT OUT, I WANT IT TO END, I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!"
"You do care," said Dumbledore. He had not flinched or made a single move to stop Harry demolishing his office. His expression was calm, almost detached. "You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it.
