Hi ,
Im about to go to the A&E dept again , was there last night and medication was put up and was given codine and flagyl and put on drip.
Feelin very ill right now , im vomiting non-stop, very very bad stomach pain, and my stools are very very bloody. Im really scared.
Are flare ups always this bad , i feel like im dying :(

sorry you are feeling so sick. I hope that you get in and see someone who can maybe help you some. Hang in there! I don't think all flares are quite so bad. I know I've had some that were way worse than others.

Hugs to you, girlie.

Is it possible the meds they have given you have made you feel worse? Why Flagyl and what was in the drip, steroids or just to rehydrate. If you were,nt administered steroids then I find that mix quite strange.

However, from what your describing i would think you need to go back to A&E, as Beth says and see a GI.

Hope you get better soon.

Joleen,
Let me first say that most people on this board know what you're going through!
You need to get in to a specialist or emergency asap! With flare-ups, they sometimes get better before getting as bad as yours, and they sometimes get worse and worse until you get an iv drip with some good strong meds in the hospital in you. If you choose to ride it out longer instead of goig to the hospital, make sure you have close family members checking up on you daily!

In general you are much better off going via your gp...either in or out of hours. You will probably have less of a wait, they have been qualified longer than many of the juniors on nights in a&e so more experienced. Also they can get you admitted to hospital under the appropriate team more quickly. It seems a bit bizarre you were deemed ill enough for drip, flagyl etc but then sent home-less likely to happen if you are admitted via a gp.

:( I hope that when you go back that they help you better. If you are in a flare up like that they should probably admit you. Hang in there, and feel well again soon.

Hi Joleen

really hope you're ok and getting some help, A&E just sucks, big time!

I hope you get admitted to hospital as soon as possible.
Sounds as though you may need a round of steroids by IV
to get things back under control again.

Not all flares are as bad as yours seem to be...
BUT they can be...so please get in there.

Healing Hugs~Nancy

Hi Everyone,
Was admitted that night and just got out today.
Feeling so much better , first couple of day were really bad (thought i was dying)
Im off work for a week for some rest and been given some good painkillers as well as my asacol and pred have been increased. And also on Predfoam enema's too.
Found out whilst i was in hospital that it's crohns colitis that i have , which nobody told me before. And booked in to have a colonoscopy in 4 weeks time.
So hopefully will a better idea of what going on soon.
