Poor thing, I feel for you. It is so frustrating when everything just piles up and causes us to feel grumpy, and others don't understand why. The worst is when you can't sleep, I could get through flares, nausea, reflux, pain and whatever else so much easier if I could just sleep through those things, so I know how you're feeling! Have you tried anything like a gentle sleep aid? I've heard good things about melatonin and that's something that's natural and isn't prone to causing dependency or anything like that. At any rate, I hope you're able to get some rest and feel better.

ive got quiet life...never had them for sleep though. may try them :/ it takes me ages to get to sleep and then i wake up every few hours feeling sick or needing the loo. its strange being so tired and yet unable to sleep :(

hopefully ill get in the docs tomorrow to get my mood sorted..dont really fancy anti depressants again.

do you find that your mood is linked to your stomache ? whenever my tummy goes off on one then so does my mood :( xx

Oh yes, definitely. I get really emotional, especially when I flare. I cry at the drop of a hat and I get super depressed and upset. Sometimes I think I'm only capable of feeling happy when my guts are behaving. It's not fun feeling so down, but from what I've read on here, it's pretty normal, so I'm not too worried about it. I just consider it another symptom.

flamin doctors take the p!! yesterday they assured me i would get an appointment with my GP as he had 3 appointments left all i had to do was ring up at 8am. because they are non pre bookables. i ring up at 8am ...takes me 5 mins to get thru and they are gone! well...they said they had one at 10am but a colleague was hving that one.

i am not impressed in the slightest !

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

so now im stuck seeing a dr who doesnt even know me :( x

Oh, that's so annoying. I've had that happen a couple times myself and it can go either way - the doctor you see could end up being good and on top of things, or the doctor could be awful. I've experienced both! The awful doctor told me I "look depressed" and tried to put me on a bunch of anti-depressants. (How can you diagnose someone with depression based on the way they look???) I hope the doctor is good, good luck!

Hi Laura - Hang in there! hope you get to see the doc soon and can get some help. We've all been there with being tired and crabby from not getting enough sleep.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

When we get stressed, we tend to hold our breath...especially when we are angry, upset or frightened about something. It was explained to me that by holding our breath we are depriving ourselves of oxygen and so our bodies go into a panic...making the stress even worse..so as simple as it sounds (and by no means am I trying to minimize your situation) taking a series of deep - in our belly breaths it helps to calm our central nervous system. I know for me, I am totally unaware of my breathing when I get stressed out like that and it took awhile for me to learn through practice.

Another one is music... whatever kind makes you feel better...like a release.
There are relaxation CD's out some with water, birds, thunderstorms (not for me thanks..lol) or a stream/woods, etc. I know when you are stressed out the last thing you want to listen to is birds chirping however it can be played when you are not stressed out to help you sleep.
There are also guided imagery CD's..sort of the same concept where someone is walking you through the woods or where ever getting you to concentrate on your body, etc.
With the android markets and iphones, I know they have apps for that now.
Also, David the administrator on here talks alot about how effective meditation is for him. Some of the above is meditation but there are lots of different types. Yoga for example mellows me right out and there is also pilates, which I have yet to try.
Dancing... if you like to dance and if you feel well enough..I know some people get a release out of that... or singing. I think the trick is to do what you are already doing which is asking for suggestions and giving them an honest try. They dont all work for everybody and I find people have to keep trying until something fits for them. Personally, for me, I had to start with the basics..and do the deep breathing. It is amazing as I realized how and where I hold the stress in..

and venting..venting on a forum :D

anyhow... thats a start. You are doing good and hanging in Laura. I hope the counsellor will help. She will probably have more info on the guided imagery or possibly know of a place where you can get a copy if she doesnt already have one. Where I live, the local library has free e-cd's so that might be a possibility for you.

I feel bad for you... you sound stressed for good reason.
Take care and keep us posted :)
