I had my first infusion yesterday and woke up last night in the worse pain i have been in since my first surgery. I feel like i have a a blockage. Before I had surgery 10 years ago these blockages with severe pain landed me in and out of the hospital until I finally had surgery. I was in remission for 8 years. Then my crohns was back and I have been in pain up and down while suffering with good days and bad, but manageable pain I could live with. Colonoscopy showed a mess by my resection and we decided on remicade since other medicines never worked for me.. The pain I am experiencing right now I haven't felt since before surgery. Its like the remicade kicked me into overdrive. Could this happen? should I continue remicade in 2 weeks.

I think you should call your GI or go to ER if you are having pain. I will suggest you give remicade a chance. It may take a while to see any improvement. I hope you feel better soon and remicade works for you.

Thanks for your response. I ended up going to the ER with a blockage in my small and large intestine. I spent 5 days in the hospital and was able to avoid surgery which was good.. They said it nothing to to with the remicade, just a coincidence that it happened the same day. Going to stick with the remicade and hope it works for me and I can go back to eating normal, and stop worrying about being blocked again.

Remicade may have some side affects with other issues(such as skin). But it will never cause blockage. I hope remicade creates a miracle to you.
