I noticed that so many of you take fish oil and I wondered what was it purpose. So after reading up on it I saw the key words for me to start taking it.........."reduces inflammation throughout the body" !! After tapering off pred. I needed something more natural to reduce the inflammation for my bad knee and back. SO I ran to the store and got some Fish oil with Omega3. But oh my when I opened the bottle and saw how HUGE those pills were......well, I just can't get those suckers down. So I started looking for an alternative and I found a new product called Mega Red. It's omega3 with Krill Oil instead of fish oil and wayyyyyy small in size. It's rather expensive so I went with the Walgreens brand which was half the cost.

Has anyone heard of this or tried it yet?

Hey Sara,

I have seen a couple of threads on here about Krill and I also did some browsing on the web about Krill oil versus Fish oil. To me Krill oil seemed to come out as the superior product with higher concentrations of the essential ingredients and thus reduced amounts of tablets needed per day. I have purchased some for Matt to take but haven't started yet due to his being in hospital. Roo is a vegan so takes Flaxseed oil instead.

Do a search and you should be able to find some threads on the subject. I know chronicaly stinky started using krill and tumeric. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Dusty. :)

Oh Dusty you were great help.......thank you so much sweetie! I'm a silly girl for not doing a search on here first.

I take MegaRed. It doesn't smell fishy, you only need one pill a day and they are small. I also read somewhere that Krill oil has more antioxidants.

If you have a Sam's membership, MegaRed is a lot cheaper there.

Oh thanks ThanksP !! My parents have a Sam's membership, I will go get some from there next. Yes I read that it is an antioxidant also. I was also just reading about Turmeric and how it is one of the best natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidants. Oh and it helps with brain So that's now on my list to get too. Wow, after breakfast I will have like 80 pills to take. lol
