Hey, so my fissure was missed and not even mentioned on my colonoscopy, is this normal or should the doc of picked up on this ?

It probably just was not notated in the dictation. Ask him about it when you see him next.

Well the doc that did the scope is different to my GI doc, the doc who did the scope said everything was normal...

Should a fissure be found from a colonoscopy?
 
It can be seen but I would think as opposed to a fistula might not be as specifically noted in testing. Sometimes the complaints from the patient about pain when having a bm or bleeding indicate a fissure and it would be specifically looked for. I agree I would speak to your GI about it he should have all the notes regardless of whether he performed the test.
 
Fissures generally can be seen just by looking on the outside, so the doc that did the scope may have just been focusing on looking for more serious issues like abscesses, ulcers or strictures and therefore just did not note the fissure, especially if it is a small one.
