I've had a fissure before which healed into a skin tag. I now think i have another but it feels further up than the last one (which was right at the entrance where i could see it with the help of a mirror) I can't see this one , but the pain is very bad when having a bowel movement and there seems to be lots of blood (clots too) and what looks like pus. It's also tender sometimes sitting . My next appt is to have my Barium meal and x-ray on the 6th Dec.
Any ideas if i contact my doctor or should i use the cream i have (rectogestic) and hope for the best ? (The last fissure was not this sore and there was not this much blood and stuff)
Any help would be appreciated as very new to Crohns.
Thanks

Hi Joleen, I had a fissure too about a year before I was diagnosed. Stupidly, I was too embarrassed about it to see my GP for a long time. When I did, he gave me the rectogesic and it cleared up really quickly.

Will you have to wait a long time to see your doctor? If so, why not make an appointment and start using the cream...and if the cream works you can always cancel the appt!

If you are having pus and blood, in addition to the increased pain - it could be an abcess or fistula that has erupted.....I def. would contact the Dr office and at least talk to them about what is going on.

Definitely talk to your doctor about it! Like pp said, if there's pus, you will want to rule out any type of infection. Also, you want to make sure you're treating the fissures the best way you can. Hope you feel better soon!
