This morning Kian went for a poo (his poo is back to normal now after 5 months on flagyl) he does pass pretty big, formed poos and there was fresh blood on loo roll. he already had a fissure cleaned out and that looks ok but I think I can see another one at the top of the opening going into his anus. Its not causing any discomfort or pain so ive started treating with the medical manuka this morning and will also start the movicol again to soften his poo (he goes every second day usually ) Do I just continue with this and see mayb next week how it goes or is it something I should be telling his ibd nurse about?

If it were me I would touch base with the IBD nurse and use her to sound out your ideas.

It sound as if you have things well in hand and the IBD nurse may very well agree with your plan and continued observation but I don't think it ever hurts to have the reassurance of validation. :)

Good luck dodie! I hope your lad responds well to your ministrations, bless him. :ghug:

Thankyou, im going to give her a call just to let her know whats happening. Just when you think things are going well..... hey ho. xx

Again, good luck hun. I hope more than anything this is just a glitch that is easily overcome. :goodluck:

Please let us know how you get on. :)

How frustrating! I agree it's worth mentioning to one of the nurses. However, your plan sounds just right. I do wonder if I will ever get to stop ordering the medical manuka honey!!!

Awww Just what I thought Sascot. I rang Lee yesterday and left a message so hopefully they will get back today. Its frustrating living so far away from Glasgow sometimes, especially for Kian. How is Andrew doing on the 6mp? good I hope. xx

Andrew is doing fine on the 6mp. His calprotectin came back down, but it hasn't done anything for his fistula. We see Mr Walker in September - I think Andrew would like to try an operation to get rid of it. We'll see what he says. Hope Lee rings back - they're usually quite good.

That's good he doing well on the 6mp. Kians calprotectin came back at 600 but lee said that was fine and its not concerning them, if it was in the thousands then it would be worrying. I hope they do another one in a few months time again. Yes we back in September too for a check to see if Kian has put any weight on, he grew last visit but weight remained the same, as Lee said though my husband is tall and slim too. Im thinking maybe we will have to go back to Glasgow sooner as they might want to have a look at his bum.... again. We live 136miles from Glasgow so its not a round the corner job but Kian comes first. Glad things are ok with Andrew and hope they get the fistula sorted out. xx
