So in March while I was in hospital, I was told I had a fistula (first one) but that it was attached at my colon. My GI said this was one of the better places for it to be, because of what they do. Anyone had this before? I am starting remicade soon, but should I be worried? Or will the remicade take care of the problem? :sign0085:

Hello there. Not sure if I can be of much help, as I think colonic fistulae are not that common. Are they prescribing Remicade specifically to try to heal the fistula? Do you get a lot of symptoms from it?

Thank you for responding! I know the remicade is to help shrink the fistula, but also because I had such bad flare in March, and then they found the fistula. I was taking entocort, but hospitalized with blockage and found it. Think he wants to do remicade to get me back under control.

Is the fistula connecting between 2 parts of your colon? And not connected to the outside of your body?

I'm not too sure about that. Other than the fact it's not outside my body. All I was told was a fistula at my colon. He said that was one of the best places to get one, if you had to have one since its "draining" in to my colon. ?
