Flu shot before reversal?

I usually get my flu shot by the end of September. My ileostomy reversal is October 10th... If you were in my position, would you get the flu shot before or after the surgery? I'm not sure what to do so any input is welcomed.

I personally would try to get it a couple weeks before the surgery just in case there are any effects from it....I usually don't feel any different but would give that cushion just in case.

check with doc. Some docs may tell you vaccines will reduce your immune system and you do not want to do that prior to surgery.

I would check with the Dr's. But I remember when I was in hospital and the flu was rampant. Too many visitors not washing hands and visiting when they shouldnt! Never mind the nurses coming in when sick.

You certainly dont want to get sick while you are trying to recover. Or sick BEFORE surgery either.
