Folic acid along with Mesalamine?

Heard that people on Mesalamine should supplement with Folic Acid? Any reason for this and by how much?

I thought that was with sulfasalazine as it was a folate antagonist. I didn't know that was the case with mesalamine alone. Interesting though, I hope you find an answer.

You could be absolutely right and maybe the person who mentioned it meant the particular drug. Not sure if it only applies to that. I'm on Apriso but was never told to supplement.

I could be wrong, I tried a search but didn't come up with much. Most articles were disscussing folic supp with sulfasalazine, though.
