Hi everyone,
I have Crohns in the small bowel and have had blockages, so I am usually trying to juggle making sure I use the washroom and not getting constipated. The problem I am having right now is caffeine helps me have a bowel movement, but now that i have hemmorhoids, after I drink the caffeine and use the washroom there is blood present. Does anyone else have anything theu drink or eat to help make them have a bowel movement, but not to the point of bleeding? I also drink peppermint tea at times to help.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Lam. Has the doctor ruled out any possibility the blood is from the crohns?

Hi,

Yes he has. I had a colonoscopy once the bleeding started (very small amounts) and a CT scan not long ago. GI said Crohns is looking fine, and that I had hemmorhoids and he was not concerned at all. The bleeding seems to only happen when I have too much caffeine and have an explosive bowel movement. I have been keeping track of it (what I eat and if any blood is present). If I have no caffeine and have a regular bowel movement, there is no bleeding.

Look at the color of the blood, the redder it is the fresher it is. It could imply you've simply got rectal tearing from consistent diarrhea that many people with Crohn's have.

Ok, I will keep track of that. I will also try and drink more water and peppermint tea instead of caffeine.
