Good Day,

My name is Mike and I have been dealing with Crohns/CFS/Immune craziness for the last few years. After seeing specialists and completing a variety of tests, I still have yet to get a Diagnosis. Not that a Diagnosis would change much for me, I mean, the Specialists have said "Its most likely Crohns Disease/Looks like Crohns Disease."

That being said, I have been feeling crappy but stable the last few months using Low dose Naltrexone, supplementing deficiencies, and watching my diet.

Now, The last 3 days I feel like I am in what is known as a Flare? My crohns area(ride side abdoment, where they found inflammation damage in my stomach) has been constantly hurting, I have had non-stop nausea that ginger does not touch, and I feel like an extremely fatigued 100 year old man.

I have been in and out of sleep the past few days, lucky to have days off, but I have to go into work tonight and I dont know how I can manage.

I wont be able to see my Doctor until next week and I have to work through the weekend.

Is there or are there any "Over the counter" medications or Supplements that could help me survive until next week???

Could anyone possibly suggest something that doesnt require a prescription. The nausea, pain, and general sickly feeling are terrible and I cannot afford to miss work...

Thank you for anyone who can spare some advice and insight.

All the best,

Mike :sign0085:

I was really hoping to avoid heading to the ER, I know it may be in my best interest but I was holding it for a last resort. I called a local walk-in clinic, they said the walk-in Doctor is sick and wouldnt be in until Monday. I then walked down to my local pharmacy and picked up some OTC pills, they have taken the edge off and I think if I watch what I eat and take it real easy, I will be OK until I see a Doc next week.

Thanks for the help!

FYI, these are what I picked up and they seem to help:

http://gravol.ca/en/natural-source/

I am using the multi-symptom ones, they have ginger extract but also something called Willow Bark extract.

First thing I saw that looked like it may help haha.

Anyways, thanks again

Be careful of taking too much of the willow bark. That could cause stomach ulcers(basically same compound as aspirin). Sounds you are having a flare up. You should get a definitive diagnosis so you can find a treatment that works for you. You don't want to feel like crap your whole life; plus the damage that could be occurring to your intestines. Try a liquid diet for a few days till you can get to the doctors, or stick to very easy to digest foods(low residue foods). For me, I couldn't pull out of a flare without Entocort or prednisolone.

This might help with your tiredness/fatigue and it is gentle on your intestinal system as it contains no added sugar or grains that cause inflammation. It's called Vega and it's a great meal replacement drink full of vitamins and protein (from peas and hemp). It's not cheap but it's made in Canada (in Burnaby in fact) and you can find it at Shoppers Drug Mart in big tubs or packets. I drank it while I was going into remission as I had terrible fatigue and weight loss. It gave me a boost of energy each time I drank it and helped me gain back the weight. I personally like it blended with a banana and ice.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the support very much.

That gravol pill helped a little but didnt address the main issues. I have now had time to see my doctor and we are trying some medication. I am feeling a bit better, but still soooo tired, but I am managing to enjoy coffee again :) ,so that helps.

All the best
